Does my child need to wear a uniform?

We do have uniform available to buy but it is not essential for then to wear uniform, however we do find the children find a sense of pride in wearing. If you wish your child to wear uniform, we have sweatshirts, t-shirts, and book bags available to purchase from pre-school.

What will my child eat at Pre-school?

If your child attends the morning session or full day session they will be provided with a healthy mid-morning snack and milk at 10am.

If your child attends for full day or afternoon sessions they will require lunch. You can either provide a healthy packed lunch or can order your child a hot school meal for an additional charge.

Packed Lunches – You are welcome to provide your child with a healthy packed lunch for lunch. We provide guidelines within our packed lunch policy which will be given to your on registration or on request.

Hot Meals – Hot meals are ordered from Farm Kitchen weekly and then prepared and delivered fresh daily. They operate on rotational menus with options for choice and charge £2.35 per day.

What is the registration/settling in process?

If you wanted to book your child into Little Acorns Pre-school we would discuss available sessions and fill in mandatory registration forms.

We would then need to get to know your child a little better so they feel secure and confident with us.

We do this by asking you to fill in an ‘All About me’ sheet so we can gain vital information about your child’s current stage of development and their likes and dislikes etc. We also offer FREE settling in sessions, based around the needs of the child, as it is vital for your child to feel comfortable in the environment for them to be able to learn.

This process can happen quite quickly and usually children are settled within a couple of days and are then given a key person.

What else will my child need to bring with them to Pre-school?

We ask that children bring with them a coat and wellingtons in the Autumn/Winter months and Jacket, hat and sun cream in the warmer months. This is to ensure children are able to take part in all learning opportunities outside no matter what the weather.

If your child is not yet potty trained we ask that you provide nappies/pull ups, wet wipes and nappy cream daily please.
